In March 2009 Daryl Farmer from Redhill in Surrey will be taking on the Marathon des Sables to raise money for Mencap. Regarded as the toughest footrace on Earth, I will be trying to cover the distance of over 150 miles across the Sahara desert in temperatures of up to 120 degrees whilst carrying everything i need to survive for the seven days in a rucksack weighing up to 15 kilos. |
