In March 2009 Daryl Farmer from Redhill in Surrey is running in the Marathon des Sables to raise money for Mencap. Regarded as the toughest footrace on Earth, the event covers a distance of 150+ miles across the Sahara desert in temperatures up to 120 degrees and i'll be carrying everything i need to survive for the seven days in a pack weighing up to 15 kilos.
